Heat
with pellets represents no danger to the forest,
because:
Wood for pellet production represents the
smallest portion by far in relation to other energy fuel production in
Germany:
In
2007 energy consumsion from wood was around 52 million m3, from that
only 1million m3 was assigned to pellet production.Around 24 million m3
represents wood burned by private households (ie.logs,briquettes etc.)
as well as 27 million m3 consumed by power stations.
Wastage
from sawmill production in Germany, (ie.sawdust,bark etc.) is around 70
million m3.Todays number of pellet burning households is around
(100,000) so on this basis alone pellet production could increase by
tenfold from sawmill wastage.

The
allegedly rising, much discussed problem of a missing nutrient supply
to the forests can amongst other things be fedback with the ashes.
